OFFICIAL RULES

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING THE ONLINE DRAWING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW.

Participation in the PensGear Scavenger Hunt and/or Online Drawing constitutes acceptance of these Official Rules.

1. SPONSOR

The PensGear Scavenger Hunt (“Promotion”) is sponsored by PensGear (“Sponsor”), 1001 Fifth Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15129.

The Promotion is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram, Meta Platforms, Inc., the NHL, or the Pittsburgh Penguins. PensGear is solely responsible for the administration of the Promotion or the awarding of prizes.

2. PROMOTION OVERVIEW

The Promotion consists of three (3) separate in-person scavenger hunts (each a “Hunt” and collectively, the “Hunts”) conducted on three (3) designated dates at locations within the greater Pittsburgh area, together with one (1) corresponding online random drawing (“Online Drawing”) associated with each Hunt.

The Hunts are scheduled as follows:

  • Hunt #1: Friday, September 18th, 2026
  • Hunt #2: Monday, September 21st, 2026
  • Hunt #3: Friday, October 2nd, 2026

Sponsor will post clues through its official social media accounts before and on the day of each Hunt. Clues may include information regarding the general area, location, timing, or other details necessary to locate Sponsor representatives.

Each Hunt ends immediately when all three (3) available in-person prizes for that Hunt have been claimed by eligible participants, or at such other time as Sponsor may announce.

The corresponding Online Drawing for each Hunt is separate from the in-person Hunt. An eligible person may participate in both the Online Drawing and the in-person Hunt, subject to these Official Rules.

3. ELIGIBILITY

The Promotion is open only to legal residents of Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia who:

  1. are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of participation; and
  2. maintain their primary residence within a fifty (50) mile radius of PPG Paints Arena, 1001 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.

The fifty (50) mile radius will be measured as a straight-line geographic distance from PPG Paints Arena to the entrant’s primary residential address, as reasonably determined by Sponsor.

Sponsor reserves the right to require proof of age, identity, and/or residency before awarding any prize. Failure or refusal to provide satisfactory proof upon request may result in disqualification and forfeiture of the prize.

Employees, officers, directors, agents, and representatives of Sponsor, PPG Paints Arena, the Pittsburgh Penguins, and members of their immediate families or households are not eligible to participate.

“Immediate family” includes spouse, parent, child, sibling, and the spouse of each such person, regardless of where they reside.

All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.

4. HOW THE IN-PERSON HUNTS WORK

On or before each designated Hunt date, Sponsor will publish one or more clues through its official social media accounts regarding the location of Sponsor representatives.

No purchase is necessary to participate.

The first three (3) eligible participants to physically arrive at the designated Sponsor location and be acknowledged by an authorized Sponsor representative will be designated the first-, second-, and third-arrival winners, respectively, subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules.

Sponsor representatives’ determination of arrival order is final.

Merely arriving in the general vicinity, observing a Sponsor representative, communicating electronically with Sponsor, or arriving at a location other than the designated check-in point does not constitute arrival for purposes of determining a winner.

Each participant must personally appear at the designated location. A person may not hold, reserve, or claim a position or prize on behalf of another person.

Limit one (1) in-person prize per household per Hunt.

Once all three (3) in-person prizes have been claimed for a Hunt, that Hunt is closed and no additional prizes will be awarded for that Hunt.

Winning a prize during one Hunt does not prohibit an otherwise eligible person or household from participating in a subsequent Hunt.

5. PARTICIPANT CONDUCT AND SAFETY

Participants are expected to exercise reasonable care and good judgment at all times.

Sponsor does not require, encourage, or authorize participants to trespass; enter private, restricted, closed, hazardous, or unauthorized areas; violate traffic or parking laws; interfere with vehicular or pedestrian traffic; climb structures; damage property; enter roadways in an unsafe manner; or engage in any dangerous, unlawful, disruptive, or reckless activity in connection with a Hunt.

All Hunt locations will be accessible without trespassing or engaging in unlawful or intentionally dangerous conduct.

Participants are responsible for their own transportation and for safely traveling to and from Hunt locations. Participants should obey all posted signs, traffic controls, property restrictions, and instructions from Sponsor representatives, property owners, law enforcement, security personnel, and other authorized personnel.

Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any participant whose conduct Sponsor determines to be unsafe, disruptive, fraudulent, abusive, unlawful, unsportsmanlike, or inconsistent with the spirit or administration of the Promotion.

Participants should not run into roadways, obstruct traffic, or otherwise place themselves or others at risk in an attempt to reach a Hunt location before another participant.

6. ONLINE DRAWINGS

One (1) Online Drawing will be conducted in connection with each Hunt.

The designated Online Drawing post will be published through Sponsor’s official Instagram account, @PensGear, approximately one (1) day before the corresponding in-person Hunt.

Unless otherwise stated in the designated post, the entry period begins when the designated Instagram post is published and ends at 9:59:59 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) on the day of the corresponding Hunt (“Online Entry Period”).

Sponsor’s computer or other designated timekeeping method will be the official timekeeping device for the Online Drawing.

7. HOW TO ENTER THE ONLINE DRAWING

To receive one (1) entry into the applicable Online Drawing, an eligible entrant must, during the applicable Online Entry Period:

  1. follow Sponsor’s official Instagram account, @PensGear;
  2. like the designated Online Drawing post; and
  3. share/repost the designated Online Drawing post using the applicable Instagram sharing/reposting functionality in a manner that permits Sponsor to reasonably verify the qualifying action.

No purchase is necessary.

Limit one (1) entry per person and per household per Online Drawing, regardless of the number of qualifying actions performed. Repeated likes, shares, reposts, follows, unfollows/re-follows, or other activity will not result in additional entries.

An entrant may not use multiple Instagram accounts, false identities, automated systems, bots, scripts, or other methods to obtain additional entries or circumvent the entry limit. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant suspected of attempting to circumvent these restrictions.

The entrant’s qualifying activity must be reasonably verifiable by Sponsor. If privacy settings or other account restrictions prevent Sponsor from verifying an entrant’s compliance with the entry requirements, Sponsor may determine the entry to be ineligible.

Winning an Online Drawing associated with one Hunt does not prohibit an otherwise eligible person or household from entering an Online Drawing associated with a subsequent Hunt.

Limit one (1) Online Drawing prize per household per Online Drawing.

8. ONLINE WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION

Following the close of each Online Entry Period, one (1) potential winner will be selected at random from among all eligible entries received for that Online Drawing.

The potential winner will be notified on or about the day of the corresponding Hunt through Instagram direct message, comment, or another method reasonably selected by Sponsor.

A potential winner must respond to Sponsor’s notification within 4 hours of the time the notification is sent, unless Sponsor specifies a different response period in the notification.

The potential winner may be required to provide their full legal name, age, residential address, telephone number, email address, and/or other information reasonably necessary to verify eligibility and deliver the prize.

If a potential winner:

  • cannot be contacted;
  • fails to respond within the required time;
  • fails to provide requested eligibility information;
  • is determined to be ineligible;
  • fails to comply with these Official Rules; or
  • declines or is unable to accept the prize,

the potential winner may be disqualified and Sponsor may, in its discretion, select an alternate winner at random from the remaining eligible entries.

The odds of winning an Online Drawing depend upon the number of eligible entries received for that Online Drawing.

9. PRIZES

For each of the three (3) Hunts, the following prizes are anticipated to be awarded, subject to availability:

First-Arrival Prize:
Four (4) tickets to the next designated Pittsburgh Penguins home game at PPG Paints Arena; one (1) premium PensGear clothing item selected by Sponsor; and one (1) $50 PensGear gift certificate.

Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $350

Second-Arrival Prize:
Three (3) tickets to the next designated Pittsburgh Penguins home game at PPG Paints Arena and one (1) PensGear apparel item selected by Sponsor.

ARV: $150

Third-Arrival Prize:
Two (2) tickets to the next designated Pittsburgh Penguins home game at PPG Paints Arena.

ARV: $80

Online Drawing Prize:
Two (2) tickets to the next designated Pittsburgh Penguins home game at PPG Paints Arena.

ARV: $80

Up to twelve (12) prizes are anticipated to be awarded during the Promotion: three (3) in-person prizes and one (1) Online Drawing prize associated with each of the three (3) Hunts.

Total ARV of all prizes: $1980.

The specific Pittsburgh Penguins home game associated with each Hunt and Online Drawing will be designated by Sponsor. Ticket locations and seat assignments will be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion.

10. PRIZE CONDITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS

All prizes are subject to availability and may be changed or substituted by Sponsor.

Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any prize or component of a prize with another prize or component of equal or greater approximate retail value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable for any reason.

No cash redemption or cash alternative will be provided except at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Any difference between the stated ARV and actual value of a prize will not be awarded.

PensGear apparel items, including premium clothing items, will be selected by Sponsor and are subject to available styles and sizes. No particular style, size, player, brand, color, or item is guaranteed unless expressly stated by Sponsor.

PensGear gift certificates are subject to any terms, conditions, exclusions, expiration provisions, or other restrictions stated on or accompanying the certificate.

Winners are solely responsible for transportation, parking, meals, accommodations, and all other costs or expenses associated with accepting or using a prize unless expressly stated otherwise.

Game tickets are subject to the terms, conditions, policies, and restrictions applicable to the tickets, venue, event, and ticketing provider.

If a designated game is postponed, rescheduled, relocated, canceled, played without spectators, or otherwise affected by circumstances outside Sponsor’s reasonable control, Sponsor’s obligations will be determined in its discretion and subject to applicable ticketing policies and law. Sponsor is not responsible for replacing any additional costs or expenses incurred by a winner as a result of such circumstances.

Prizes may not be transferred, assigned, sold, auctioned, or exchanged except with Sponsor’s prior written permission.

All federal, state, and local taxes, if any, and all other expenses not expressly included in these Official Rules are the sole responsibility of the winner.

11. PUBLICITY AND USE OF NAME AND LIKENESS

Except where prohibited by law, by entering an Online Drawing, participating in an in-person Hunt, accepting a prize, or otherwise participating in the Promotion, each participant grants Sponsor and its designees permission to photograph, record, and/or document the participant in connection with the Promotion and to use the participant’s name, photograph, image, likeness, voice, statements, and/or biographical information for advertising, publicity, promotional, social media, website, and other commercial or promotional purposes relating to PensGear and its businesses, in any media now known or later developed, without additional compensation, notice, review, or approval, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Participants in an in-person Hunt acknowledge that photography and/or video recording may occur at the Hunt location.

Sponsor may require a winner to execute a separate eligibility, prize acknowledgment, liability, and/or publicity release as a condition of receiving or retaining a prize.

Failure to execute a required release may result in forfeiture of the prize.

12. GENERAL CONDITIONS

Sponsor reserves the right, in its reasonable discretion, to cancel, suspend, postpone, terminate, relocate, or modify any Hunt, Online Drawing, or the Promotion as a whole if fraud, technical failure, weather, public safety concerns, venue restrictions, governmental action, circumstances beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control, or any other condition materially affects the fairness, safety, integrity, or proper administration of the Promotion.

Sponsor reserves the right to correct typographical, printing, clerical, publishing, or other inadvertent errors in promotional materials or communications.

Sponsor’s decisions regarding eligibility, arrival order, compliance with these Official Rules, winner selection, prize administration, and all other matters relating to the Promotion are final and binding to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Any attempt to deliberately damage a website, interfere with Sponsor’s social media accounts, manipulate an Online Drawing, disrupt a Hunt, falsify eligibility information, impersonate another person, or otherwise undermine the legitimate operation of the Promotion may result in disqualification and may violate applicable law.

13. RELEASE AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, by participating in the Promotion, participants agree to release and hold harmless Sponsor and its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, prize suppliers, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives, and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, or causes of action arising out of or relating to participation in the Promotion or the acceptance, possession, use, misuse, or inability to use any prize, except to the extent such limitation or release is prohibited by applicable law.

The Released Parties are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, misdirected, technically corrupted, or unverifiable entries; unavailable or interrupted internet or cellular service; social media platform failures; incorrect or inaccurate information caused by equipment, programming, human error, or technical malfunction; or other circumstances outside Sponsor’s reasonable control.

Nothing in these Official Rules is intended to waive or limit any right or liability that cannot lawfully be waived or limited.

14. INSTAGRAM DISCLAIMER

This Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc.

By participating, each entrant acknowledges that Instagram is not responsible for the Promotion and releases Instagram from responsibility relating to the administration of the Promotion to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Entrants must comply with Instagram’s applicable terms, policies, and community guidelines. Sponsor is not responsible for changes to Instagram functionality, privacy settings, platform availability, or other circumstances that prevent Sponsor from verifying an entry.

15. PRIVACY

Information collected from participants in connection with the Promotion will be used for purposes of administering the Promotion, verifying eligibility, contacting winners, fulfilling prizes, and for other purposes permitted by these Official Rules and applicable law.

16. DISPUTES AND GOVERNING LAW

Except where prohibited by law, the Promotion and these Official Rules will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

18. OFFICIAL RULES

These Official Rules constitute the rules governing the Promotion. In the event of a conflict between these Official Rules and abbreviated rules or promotional language appearing in a social media post, graphic, advertisement, email, or other promotional material, these Official Rules will control.

Sponsor reserves all rights not expressly addressed herein to the extent permitted by applicable law.
